This is a one-of-a-kind record that I have been working on since 2022. It emerged from a vision to create music centered on the accordion as the sole sound source. I pursued a production approach that allowed me to explore the instrument’s diverse playing techniques and to transform its sound so that it could resemble synthesizers, bowed strings, electric guitars, soundscape effects, basses, and percussion. Subsequently, I added live-recorded drums and vocal elements to the work.

 

The result is a sound characterized by contrasting pattern structures, deep textures, and overlapping narratives. The eight tracks on the record have a strong cinematic quality, capable of evoking vivid imagery and taking listeners on a journey through different dimensions, constantly challenged by the unexpected. The compositions draw inspiration from the work of several celebrated artists, including Steve Reich, Sigur Rós, Apparat, Nils Frahm, Caterina Barbieri, Philip Glass, and others.

 

The uniqueness of this record—defined by the altered sound of the accordion and its distinctive compositional structures—positions it as a first mover: an avant-garde work that celebrates experimentation while remaining pleasurable to listen to and dance to.
